Trudy is a passionate speech pathologist who believes that no human is limited. She is dedicated to child-led, play-based, and neuro-affirming therapy, ensuring that every child feels understood, supported, and empowered in their communication journey.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy from University College Cork, Ireland, and has completed extensive further training in Hanen-More Than Words, Key Word Sign, DIR-Floortime, Sounds-Write, SOS Feeding, Therapeutic Listening, Talk for Writing, Decoding Autism, Learn to Play, and MORE (Suck-Swallow-Breathe Synchrony), among many others.
Trudy’s clinical interests include neuro-affirming and trauma-informed practice, gestalt language processing, cognitive communication and processing, and literacy development.
Her career began with voluntary work in adult disability services in Ireland before she moved to Singapore to work as a speech pathologist at a children’s charity. In 2014, she relocated to Australia, where she worked for a mobile therapy service and later as a senior speech pathologist in a private clinic in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
For Trudy, speech pathology is the perfect blend of personal passion and professional fulfilment. She is inspired by the power of communication and the joy of supporting young people in building meaningful connections.
She finds the most joy in empowering families, helping them strengthen relationships, and celebrating every step of progress along the way. She loves making therapy dynamic and engaging through play, creativity, and real-world interactions.
When in the clinic, Trudy enjoys whatever sparks connection—from Lego building and board games to blowing bubbles, singing, dancing, drawing, or even hosting a tea party! Therapy should be as fun and unique as the children she supports.
Trudy is committed to creating a safe, affirming space where every child can communicate with confidence and thrive in their own way.
